Bear Valley

Though I previously mentioned that this winter we are enjoying staying and relaxing at home....but yesterday we decided to take a quick day trip to enjoy hidden Sierra ski resort.

When we think of going to snow area, most of us in Bay area would imagine going to Lake Tahoe, but the way to Tahoe usually is challenging so my son picked Bear Valley which is only 4 hours drive from our home.

We took off 6 in the morning and arrived there just before 10:30am. Most of us took a good nap on the way so we were so ready to play! ( thanks to my hubby)

 

My son took a snowboard lesson there and enjoyed the rest of the day....

 

On the other hand, rest of us just enjoyed playing in the snow... us include our four legged buddy. 

 

It felt like more than a day trip but we certainly enjoyed the convenience of getting this snowy area within 4 hours drive. We might even go back there sooner than we think...

前回のエントリーでは「ステイケーション」満喫中！みたいな事を書いておりましたが・・・
 
長男の突然のリクエストで急きょ、雪山（笑）に行って参りました。

冬休みで大学の寮から帰宅している長男がスノーボードをしたいと言う事でクリスマス前から
そんな話をしていたのですが・・・・今の時点でこの辺りでスキーリゾートで有名なレイクタホに行くにしては準備不足だし、遠い・・・・と渋っていたのですが、我が家から車で約４時間のBear Valleyと言うところなら近いからと言う事で話はトントン拍子に決まり朝５時起き６時出発で行って参りました。

現地には１０時半前には着いて、道中、運転していた主人以外はすっかり仮眠をとっていたので皆到着時には万全の態勢でした。（主人には申し訳ないのですが・・・はは。）

スノーボードと騒いでいた長男は早速レッスンに参加してその後は一人でゲレンデを何度も滑っては楽しんでおりました。

残りのメンバーは「ただの雪遊び」グループとなり、我が家の４本足のお友達もすっかり大喜びで雪にまみれて遊んでおりました。

♪い～ぬ～はよろこび庭かけまわる～♪と歌の通り、本当に嬉しそうに犬は雪遊びが好きなのね～と思わず一人肯いてしまいました。

今年の雪はここ数年で一番質の良いスノーだとリゾートの方が教えてくれました。

まだまだスキーシーズンは続きそうですよ。
サンフランシスコ・ベイエリアの皆さん、日帰りスキー（又はスノーボーディング）に
Bear Valleyお勧めです。
